Author Supervision Expert

Wood (trading locally as WOOD KSS LLP) is currently recruiting for a Author Supervision Expert to join our team in Tengiz.

Responsibilities:

• Author supervision of construction/installation activities, acceptance of completed facilities from Client construction contractors
• Control of construction progress against schedules, control of compliance of scope, schedule, quality of construction/installation activities, quality of construction materials, products, structures with approved design and estimate documentation, drawings, construction codes and regulations, standards, specifications, occupational safety norms
• Involvement in review and approval of changes to design made during construction promptly addressing the issues of materials, products, structures replacement (having agreed with the project team) without compromising on quality of construction or design
• Investigation for reasons of schedule overrun, deterioration of construction/installation quality, taking actions to eliminate and prevent their occurrence
• Technical acceptance of completed Multi-discipline construction scopes and facilities with issuance of required technical documents
• Participation in acceptance and handover commissions
• Control of the quality of rework, rectification of defects and faulty workmanship by construction contractors within the timeframe defined by the commission
• Keeping records of completed construction/installation activities, input to construction completion report
• Management of SEQ Register and tracking of all RLMU’s of agreed changes throughout duration of the Construction
• Reporting to RA Manager and interface Focal Point between Construction Team and Engineering Head office
• Without being released from his/her main job performs the duties of (replaces) temporary absent line managers and employees of the same function/department
• Coordinate and communicate with Engineering team
• Submit requests to Project Manager to involve / call the appropriate Engineering team specialists depending on the stages of the work performed
• Send inquiries / questions / suggestions to Project Engineer on making decisions on current AS issues
• Maintain close contact with commissioning and start-up contractor and ensure, by joint effort, that design is adhered to and recommendations from commissioning and start-up contractor's experts implemented
• Issue engineering solutions aimed at ensuring durability and rigidity of building and facility load-bearing and enclosing structures in cases of establishing their poor quality, the use of substandard materials or deviations from the maximum permissible values (tolerances) specified in the applicable building regulations
• Timely and quality introduction of changes into detailed / working documentation on the decisions made during AS
• Participate in the activities of the committee for commissioning of buildings and facilities
• Maintain AS Logs (2 copies). The AS expert shall be solely responsible for the completeness and quality of entries made in the work logs.
• Ensure preservation of AS log until the end of construction or guaranteed service life of the facility
• Timely change into design documentation during construction
• Prepare AS weekly and monthly progress reports
• Ensure works stops –
  • where harm to human health is possible / identified
  • where the subsequent operation of the facility/structure may lead to an accident or disruption of the process
  • in the event of a breach of construction technology that would potentially result in a substandard execution of the work.
  • in the case of violation of the construction technology of the structure, potentially leading to poor-quality work / performance.
