Software Engineer / Developer

CMT has been together for more than two decades and has built a team of professionals with significant trading, technology, and private equity experience. Operating across five continents, we are an internationally respected proprietary trading and financial services firm, and through our private investments arm, we incubate both early-stage and mature businesses by stimulating innovation and maximizing value.

Our trading team joined CMT two years ago from LGT Capital Partners, a leading European alternative asset manager, where we developed and managed innovative news-based algorithmic strategies that blend data with behavioral models, winning prestigious HFM Quant Performance Awards in 2020 and 2021. Having extended our modeling framework to intraday horizons, we launched with CMT a mid-frequency algorithmic strategy with SR>3.

We operate out of the Cayman Islands – a tax-free environment in a picturesque Caribbean setting – and are now looking for a Software Engineer/Developer to complement our team.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and maintain algorithmic trading strategies in production.
• Prepare infrastructure for model development, testing, and production rollout.
• Build and maintain monitoring systems (Grafana or similar) for trading activity, order execution quality, connectivity, and latency metrics.
• Work with market data and order types (order book construction, book/volume imbalances).
• Integrate and maintain connectivity with brokers and trading venues (FIX, REST, WebSocket APIs).
• Ensure system reliability, stability, and fault tolerance in a production environment.

Programming languages: Python (main), C++, Rust.

Expectations

• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Engineering from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), Moscow State University (MSU), or similar.
• 5+ years of experience in systems infrastructure or a related field.
• Background in fintech and algorithmic trading a plus.
• Self-motivated and highly productive individual, who can be both a team player and an independent project developer.

Compensation

Annual salary of USD 120,000 – 150,000, depending on seniority level and workplace type (remote, hybrid, or on-site).
